What is SEPA Instant, and who is required to offer it?
SEPA Instant (SCT Inst) lets a euro payment reach the recipient within seconds, 24/7. Under the EU Instant Payments Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2024/886), euro-area banks are required to offer receiving instant payments from 9 January 2025, and sending plus Verification of Payee (VoP) from 9 October 2025. For electronic money institutions (EMIs) this date is 9 April 2027.
How to use this tool
- In the table, see each bank's SCT Instant and VoP status together with its legal basis.
- Use the filter box to narrow by bank/country; click a bank name to open its full profile.
A legal obligation is strong evidence; even so, a bank's EPC register entry, fees and actual operational status must be assessed separately.
