SEPA status — three separate layers
In SEPA, three concepts must not be conflated: a bank's registration in a scheme, offering it to customers and actually providing the service are different things. Below, these three layers are shown separately. "Not verified" = not independently confirmed; nothing is guessed.
1) Scheme status (four separate layers)
A green "Yes" is not given by legal obligation alone. For each scheme, four layers are shown separately: Legal scope · EPC register entry (authoritative) · Bank declaration · Customer access.
| Scheme | Legal scope | EPC register entry | Bank declaration | Customer access |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SCT (SEPA Credit Transfer) | Not verified | Yes | Not verified | Not verified |
| SCT Instant | Yes | Yes | Not verified | Not verified |
| SDD Core (direct debit) | Not verified | Yes | Yes | Not verified |
| SDD B2B | Not verified | Yes | Yes | Not verified |
| Verification of Payee (VoP) | Yes | Yes | Not verified | Not verified |

SDD (direct debit) detail
SDD is not a single "Yes/No": the debtor side (collection from the account + refund) and the creditor side (collecting money) are different things.
SDD Core — EPC register entry
EPC Register of Participants (2026-06). Authoritative source.
SDD Core — debtor reachability (collection from account + refund)
At a bank registered in the scheme, a SEPA direct debit can be collected from the account; the refund right applies (8 weeks for authorised / 13 months for unauthorised).
SDD Core — creditor collection initiation (collecting money)
Collecting as a creditor requires a Creditor Identifier + collection infrastructure; whether this is offered to standard personal customers is not verified.
SDD B2B — EPC register entry
EPC Register of Participants (2026-06).
Creditor Identifier (CI) support
Whether the bank issues a CI to its customers has not been independently verified.
Refund / dispute function
Under SDD Core scheme rules the debtor has a refund right; the implementation detail varies by bank.
2) Customer availability and operational status
Because this bank is a euro-area credit institution, under the EU Instant Payments Regulation (EU 2024/886) it is legally required to offer SEPA Instant and Verification of Payee (VoP) to its customers (receiving since 9 January 2025, sending + VoP since 9 October 2025). Which channels (web, mobile, branch) it is offered on, and the fee/limit conditions, may vary by bank and have not been independently verified.
3) Message formats (ISO 20022)
| pain.001 (payment instruction) | Yes |
| camt.053 (account statement) | Yes |
| camt.054 (debit/credit notification) | Yes |
4) Connection and API channels
"API" is not a single thing. PSD2 XS2A (regulated access for licensed third parties) is different from a public developer API or a corporate payment API.
PSD2 / Open Banking access interface (XS2A)
REGULATED access for licensed third parties (AISP/PISP) (Del. Reg. 2018/389). It is NOT a public developer API.
General / developer API product
Whether a public commercial developer API is offered has not been independently verified.
Corporate payment-initiation API (host-to-host)
Not verified.
EBICS
Corporate file-exchange protocol (mainly DE/FR/AT).
File upload / SFTP
Not verified.
Because this bank is a credit institution in the euro area, under the EU Instant Payments Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2024/886) it is legally required to offer SEPA Instant (SCT Inst) and Verification of Payee (VoP): receiving instant payments from 9 January 2025, and sending plus VoP from 9 October 2025. The instant-payment obligation also requires the bank to be reachable for SEPA Credit Transfer (SCT). Note: a legal obligation is strong evidence, but for a given bank the EPC participant-register entry, fees, limits, cut-off and actual operational status must be assessed separately and have not been independently verified here.
Corporate capabilities such as SDD (Core/B2B) and EBICS have been verified from the bank's official cash-management / corporate pages (checked: July 2026). The legal basis for the API is PSD2 (Directive (EU) 2015/2366).

Fees
Online SEPA and instant transfers carry no extra fee; the account package starts at €2.50/month (free for under-24s). Source: KBC (checked: Jul 2026).
Limits and cut-off
Instant payments (SCT Instant) operate 24/7 and have no cut-off time. Since 5 October 2025 the scheme-wide €100,000 cap has been removed (theoretical maximum €999,999,999.99); a bank may set its own limit, but the SCT Instant limit cannot be lower than the standard SCT limit. Source: EPC 2025 SCT Inst Rulebook.
For standard SEPA (SCT) transfers, the bank has a daily cut-off time; a transaction sent after this time is processed on the next business day.
The exact standard SCT cut-off time for this bank has not been verified here; check the bank's current tariff for the current value.
Current tariff (automatic monitoring)

The exact fee varies by account plan, channel and customer type and is updated frequently. Before giving a payment instruction, confirm from the bank's official current tariff.
