Fee information
Instead of a fixed SEPA fee, Wise charges a small amount-based fee and uses the mid-market rate (e.g. a few euros on a €1,000 transfer); incoming SEPA is free. Source: Wise pricing (checked: Jul 2026).

SEPA status — three separate layers

In SEPA, three concepts must not be conflated: a bank's registration in a scheme, offering it to customers and actually providing the service are different things. Below, these three layers are shown separately. "Not verified" = not independently confirmed; nothing is guessed.

1) Scheme status (four separate layers)

A green "Yes" is not given by legal obligation alone. For each scheme, four layers are shown separately: Legal scope · EPC register entry (authoritative) · Bank declaration · Customer access.

SCT (SEPA Credit Transfer) Not verified Yes Not verified Not verified

SDD (direct debit) detail

SDD is not a single "Yes/No": the debtor side (collection from the account + refund) and the creditor side (collecting money) are different things.

SDD Core — EPC register entry

EPC Register of Participants (2026-06). Authoritative source.

Yes

SDD Core — debtor reachability (collection from account + refund)

At a bank registered in the scheme, a SEPA direct debit can be collected from the account; the refund right applies (8 weeks for authorised / 13 months for unauthorised).

Yes

SDD Core — creditor collection initiation (collecting money)

Collecting as a creditor requires a Creditor Identifier + collection infrastructure; whether this is offered to standard personal customers is not verified.

Not verified

SDD B2B — EPC register entry

EPC Register of Participants (2026-06).

No

Creditor Identifier (CI) support

Whether the bank issues a CI to its customers has not been independently verified.

Not verified

Refund / dispute function

Under SDD Core scheme rules the debtor has a refund right; the implementation detail varies by bank.

Yes

2) Customer availability and operational status

Operational status (is it actually providing the service?) Not verified

Which customer segments (personal, business) and channels (web, mobile, branch) this bank actually offers the SEPA schemes to has not been independently verified. Scheme reachability does not mean the product is offered.

3) Message formats (ISO 20022)

pain.001 (payment instruction) Not verified
camt.053 (account statement) Not verified
camt.054 (debit/credit notification) Not verified

4) Connection and API channels

"API" is not a single thing. PSD2 XS2A (regulated access for licensed third parties) is different from a public developer API or a corporate payment API.

PSD2 / Open Banking access interface (XS2A)

REGULATED access for licensed third parties (AISP/PISP) (Del. Reg. 2018/389). It is NOT a public developer API.

Yes

General / developer API product

Whether a public commercial developer API is offered has not been independently verified.

Wise is not a bank but a Belgium-licensed electronic money institution (EMI). Sending/receiving euros (SEPA Credit Transfer) is Wise's core product (source: Wise product/pricing pages) — this is a product-level confirmation, not derived from country membership. Because the EU Instant Payments Regulation (EU 2024/886) deferred the SCT Instant/VoP obligation for EMIs to 9 April 2027, SCT Instant support is not guaranteed until that date (not verified). The EPC participant-register entry and other technical features must be assessed separately.

Fees

Standard SEPA transfer fee B — Bank tariff

Instead of a fixed SEPA fee, Wise charges a small amount-based fee and uses the mid-market rate (e.g. a few euros on a €1,000 transfer); incoming SEPA is free. Source: Wise pricing (checked: Jul 2026).

Equal-charges principle (EU law). At this bank, a cross-border euro SEPA transfer is subject to the same fee as an equivalent domestic transfer. Source: Regulation (EU) 2021/1230 (EUR-Lex), in force 19 Aug 2021.
Instant payment fee cap (EU law). A cross-border euro instant (SCT Instant) transfer fee cannot exceed the fee for a normal (non-instant) euro transfer. Source: Regulation (EU) 2024/886 (amends 2021/1230), in force 8 Apr 2024.

Limits and cut-off

Instant payments (SCT Instant) operate 24/7 and have no cut-off time. Since 5 October 2025 the scheme-wide €100,000 cap has been removed (theoretical maximum €999,999,999.99); a bank may set its own limit, but the SCT Instant limit cannot be lower than the standard SCT limit. Source: EPC 2025 SCT Inst Rulebook.

For standard SEPA (SCT) transfers, the bank has a daily cut-off time; a transaction sent after this time is processed on the next business day.

The exact standard SCT cut-off time for this bank has not been verified here; check the bank's current tariff for the current value.
