How is this tool used?
- Type the Creditor Identifier from your SEPA Direct Debit contract/mandate into the box.
- Press Validate. The tool splits the identifier into its components and tests the check digit.
Creditor Identifier structure
A SEPA Creditor Identifier consists of four parts:
- Country code (2): ISO country code, e.g.
DE. - Check digits (2): Calculated with MOD-97-10.
- Business code (3): Usually
ZZZ; not included in the check digit. - National identifier: A country-specific identifier.
This tool only checks structural validity; it does not show that the identifier is actually assigned to a creditor or active.
