SEPA Route & Real Cost Calculator

How will your money travel and what will it really cost? Enter the sender/recipient country, the amount and as much as you know; we mark the rest as 'not verified'.

Updated:

Privacy: The calculation runs in your browser; the full IBAN, account number, amount and reference you enter are not sent to a server, logged or passed to analytics. Some tools may pass only a non-sensitive term (e.g. bank code, BIC, currency) to a lookup service for search/matching. Per-tool detail: Privacy.

Results are estimates and are based on the details you enter. A bank's participation in the SEPA scheme does not on its own prove the service is available to you. Verify with your bank before making the transaction.
Speed

Note: in SEPA the charges are always applied on the shared (SLEV) principle and the amount is passed on to the recipient in full; OUR/SHA/BEN are for SWIFT only. For the SWIFT charge-sharing scenario, use the How Much Reaches the Recipient? tool.

Advanced: fees, rates and other fields (optional)

How does this tool calculate?

Low — scenario based on user input
Method/formula used
Estimates the route (SEPA or SWIFT) from the country/currency/amount/fee inputs, plus an estimated total cost and the amount reaching the recipient. Exchange-rate margin: |bank−market|/market.
Data used
Country/SEPA data (route) + the fee/rate details you enter
Rounding
Amounts are rounded to 2 decimal places
Unsupported cases
  • Does not replace a real bank tariff/rate
  • Bank-specific cut-offs and exceptions

What does this tool do?

It shows on one screen the likely route of a euro transfer (SEPA or SWIFT), whether it may be standard SCT or SEPA Instant, whether a currency conversion is required, the estimated total cost, the amount that will reach the recipient and the effective cost rate. The goal is to help you ask the right questions before you make the transaction.

Why "estimated"?

Bank fees, exchange-rate margins and scheme support vary by bank, customer plan and country regulation. A country being within SEPA coverage does not mean every bank is operational; a bank participating in the scheme does not prove the service is available to you. That is why we do not use definite wording without definite data. For detail, see SEPA vs SWIFT? and Is SEPA free?
