SEPA or SWIFT Detector
Tick the clues on your bank screen; we will estimate — based on the indicators — whether the transaction is SEPA or SWIFT. This tool does not make a definite legal/technical decision.

How does this tool calculate?
Heuristic — rule-based estimate- Method/formula used
- An estimate of whether the transaction is SEPA or SWIFT based on the clues you enter (country, currency, IBAN/BIC, correspondent bank indicators).
- Data used
- SEPA coverage rules + user inputs
- Unsupported cases
- For a definite result, check your bank's transaction detail
- Bank interface differences
What do the indicators tell you?
An OUR/SHA/BEN option being offered and a correspondent bank charge being mentioned point to the transaction potentially being processed as SWIFT. By contrast, transactions in euro, to an IBAN belonging to a SEPA country, with a "SEPA Credit Transfer" label and a fixed fee are closer to SEPA.
This tool only evaluates the indicators; for a definite result, confirm the transaction type and the fee description with your bank. For a conceptual comparison, see the SEPA vs SWIFT? guide.
