Updated:

Privacy: The calculation runs in your browser; the full IBAN, account number, amount and reference you enter are not sent to a server, logged or passed to analytics. Some tools may pass only a non-sensitive term (e.g. bank code, BIC, currency) to a lookup service for search/matching. Per-tool detail: Privacy.

How does this tool calculate?

Definite — mathematical/standard result
Method/formula used
Structural decoding of each BIC under ISO 9362 (institution·country·location·branch); run in bulk.
Data used
ISO 9362 (BIC) and ISO 3166 country codes
Unsupported cases
  • Does not guarantee the bank/branch is active
  • The file is not sent to a server

How is this tool used?

  1. Paste the list or upload a CSV; there should be one BIC per line (8 or 11 characters).
  2. Validate all: The tool splits each BIC into its components (institution · country · location · branch) under ISO 9362 and checks its structural validity.
  3. Download CSV: Download the result and use it for accounting/integration.

This tool checks the structural validity of a BIC; it does not show that the institution is active or reachable on a specific route. Everything runs in your browser.

For single decoding see BIC/SWIFT lookup; for the code structure see our What is BIC article.
